New Units!
Social Dance - We had a great week of learning different line dances and creating our own dances to different pieces of music! Great job 9-4!
Fitness Training - the focus for fitness training in the foyer consists of effort, participation, proper technique. Stretching is another important element in any fitness activity.
Basketball - We are currently working on basketball this week and have been practicing dribbling and shooting skills in order to get us ready for game play. See below for rules.
Circus - our last week of school before the holidays will consist of two circus days! (Wednesday/Thursday) This will include learning how to use stilts, the tightrope, riding the unicycle, juggling and acro. Safety and participation will be a key assessment component in this unit.

Mark Albert - was was named to the Canadian junior national team and in 1981 and moved to Calgary to join the senior national team. He left the team 18 months to become a police officer in Calgary. In 1989 he returned to national program and was named tournament MVP of the 1992 pre-Olympic qualifying tournament. At the Olympics, the team barely missed on advancing to the quarterfinals losing three 5-set matches along with defeating France. They ended the tournament losing the 9-10 place game to South Korea. -

One of our first units this term is Rugby! Please see attached for rules, passes. JENNIFER KISH - Not only is she ranked as one of the best players in the world, Kish is a passionate leader on both the 15s and Sevens side. She captained the Sevens team at the World Cup qualifier and at our most recent tournament in Dubai. Kish is recognizable forher evasive running skills, demoralizing tackles, and of course her ink.
